Visual Narratives is an architectural photography and film studio based in Lahore, working with architects, developers and institutions across Pakistan. Our documentation of Vision Pakistan — winner of the 2025 Aga Khan Award for Architecture — is part of a practice built around one subject rather than many.
What we do
Architectural Photography
Exteriors and interiors, documented for the architects who designed them and the institutions that commissioned them. Residences, mosques, campuses, workplaces, retail and hospitality.
Architectural Film
Documentary and cinematic films of buildings in use — the same architectural reading as the photography, carried in motion and sound.
Interiors
Interior documentation for architects, interior designers and the brands occupying the space, photographed at the hour the room was designed to be seen.
Ongoing Documentation
Longer-term coverage of a project through construction, completion and occupation, for practices building a record of their own work.
How a commission runs

Shoot Days
Photography or filming across a mutually agreed schedule.

Selection Folder
A curated preview folder is shared within 5–7 working days of the shoot, for review and selection.

Editing & Post-Production
Final edits are completed within 10–15 working days of selection confirmation.
- 04
Review & Revisions
Edited work is shared for review, with two rounds of minor revisions included.
- 05
Final Delivery
Approved files are delivered in high resolution — JPEG or TIFF for photography, MP4 for film.
Where we work
The studio is based in Lahore, where most of our work is made, and takes commissions nationwide. For projects outside Lahore, travel and accommodation are estimated in advance and arranged as part of the commission.

Common questions
- Which cities do you work in?
- The studio is based in Lahore and takes commissions across Pakistan, with completed work in Islamabad and Karachi. For projects outside Lahore, travel and accommodation are arranged as part of the commission and estimated in advance.
- How long until we receive the photographs?
- A curated selection folder is shared within 5–7 working days of the shoot. Once selections are confirmed, final edited files follow within 10–15 working days.
- How many rounds of revisions are included?
- Two rounds of minor revisions are included. Major revisions, reshoots or changes to the agreed scope may affect cost and timeline.
- What formats are delivered?
- Photography is delivered as high-resolution JPEG or TIFF, and film as MP4, unless another format is agreed at the time of commission.
- Who owns the copyright to the images?
- Visual Narratives retains copyright in all work produced. On full payment, clients are granted non-exclusive usage rights for the purposes agreed at the time of commission. Credit to Visual Narratives is required wherever the work is shared publicly.
- Do you photograph interiors as well as exteriors?
- Yes. Most commissions cover both, and interiors can also be commissioned on their own for interior designers and the brands occupying a space.
- Do you shoot film as well as stills?
- Yes. Architectural film is a core part of the studio’s work and can be commissioned alongside photography or independently.
- How much does an architectural shoot cost?
- Cost depends on scope — the number of shoot days, whether film is included, the deliverables required and travel. Get in touch with the project details and a written proposal will follow.
